A doctor gets to know about the symptoms from the patient and recommends diagnostic imaging solutions. He is already sure about the illness affecting the patient but he wants to confirm and this aids him to come up with accurate diagnosis. Today medical world is blessed with diagnostic equipment which help to diagnose the illness accurately.
MRI- Its Benefits There are many diagnostic imaging solutions and depending on the need the physicians recommend one. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is popular throughout the world as the results are accurate and it is non-invasive. It is a medical procedure where radio waves and a powerful magnet linked to a computer scan the body and give detailed picture of the internal organs. These pictures help the physicians identify injury or anomalies which exist in the human body. Before it was known as nuclear magnetic resonance imagining and the word nuclear was left out as it had negative effect. How The Patient Feels A patient is made to lie on a table and it slides into the MRI machine. The pictures of the part which need to be focussed is taken. The pictures of the internal structures are taken and they are much clearer. Most patients feel claustrophobic when they get into the machine. The sounds the machine produces also make things worse. Earplugs are given to the patients to block the loud noises of the scanner. Until recently MRI patient experience was not good. To overcome all these and to make things better for the patients’ new techniques have been incorporated into the machine. Virtual Skylight By establishing a visual connect with nature the procedure becomes simplified and patients feel relaxed when they come out of the machine. They feel good and this is the essential motive behind incorporating this into the MRI machine. Experience of MRI patients after seeing natural scenery are recorded and they feel better. Here neuroscience is also used and a powerful multisensory response is got by doing this. Open sky images are used and it gives therapeutic benefits for the mind and body. They can be installed easily and they are modular and you can arrange in any shape in the existing grid systems. In -Bore MRI Cinema MRI is not a pleasant experience for some patients. They move and the scans get delayed and so in- bore cinema was introduced. Here, the patients can watch high quality entertainment of their choice and they remain relaxed while scanning is done. Experience of MRI patients have proved that they have a soothing experience when they watch their favourite entertainment. The main motive is to distract them while scanning and reduce their fear. They feel relaxed when these are incorporated and the scans are done without delay.
